Statement of Belief
At House of Praise and Worship, we are a Christ-centered, Spirit-led community grounded in the truth of Scripture and committed to living out the Gospel in everyday life.
We believe that the Bible is God’s living Word—our foundation, our guide, and our authority in all matters of faith and life.
We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who created us, loves us, and calls us into relationship with Him.
We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are forgiven, restored, and given new life. Salvation is a gift of grace, received by faith, and it transforms us from the inside out.
We believe that new life in Christ is not just a moment—but a journey. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are continually being shaped into the image of Jesus.
We believe the Church is not just a building—it is a family. A community of believers called to grow together, worship together, and serve together.
And we believe we are sent—called to carry the message of Jesus into our communities and the world, living out faith through love, compassion, and service.

Our Story
House of Praise and Worship began as a vision in the heart of the Founding Pastor, Bishop Joel Cruz Sr., who felt a calling to create a church where families could gather, worship, and realize their unique potential in serving God. This vision came to life in 2002, when House of Praise and Worship held its first service, dedicated to worship that comes from the heart.
The church grew quickly, moving from a home gathering to several locations around Hartford as more people joined in fellowship. Each step of our journey has been a testament to God’s provision and the spirit of worship that unites us.
Today, we are blessed to gather in a beautiful sanctuary in West Hartford that reflects the growth God has granted us. At House of Praise and Worship, we continue to welcome all who wish to deepen their faith, find community, and serve God wholeheartedly.
